Descried, a self proclaimed 'Southern Grunge' band with a modern edge, explodes on the scene with melodic gut wrenching guitar riffs and a mixture of smooth and grinding vocals with an eerie dark undertone. They contain elements of everything that made rock and metal great in the 70s and 90s. You can hear their influences buried deep within their music if you listen hard enough. If you asked ten people to describe their sound you'd probably get back ten different answers and ten new fans.
Dissatisfied with the current direction of the rock music industry, Descried founders Jack Shattuck and John Pollard set out on personal mission to launch a relentless assault to amend modern music one song at a time. They spent the better part of seven years refining their sound and learning to write songs that could pierce someone's soul and muster tears of satisfaction as you can't resist head banging along with the riffs. Once they felt the time was right they looked for a vocalist and as if almost by fate they immediately stumbled upon a video of Justin Estep. This was a sign. It immediately became evident to the guys that Justin would become the voice of Descried. After a quick exchange of a few emails the trio anxiously met up the next day. At that fateful meeting, Justin scarily shared the very same views that Descried was founded on and the sound was complete. Within the next month they recruited Bo 'The Bassman' Hutchinson. At the first full-bodied rehearsal, the entire crew witnessed something magickal and much larger than they had expected. They knew this was something, this was it. Finally, out of the workshop, Descried is here to penetrate your mind and touch your soul with profound music to propel the return of real music with real passion and meaning.
Descried is currently writing new material for an EP.
